School receives $5,000 from Consolidated Connects Educational Grant Program
MATTOON, Ill. – May 3, 2024 – Mattoon High School has been awarded a $5,000 grant to support its Chrome Depot program from Consolidated Communication’s Consolidated Connects Educational Grant Program. Consolidated joined students, teachers and faculty in celebrating the grant award during the annual end of the year celebration for district-wide tech leadership teams on Friday, May 3 at Williams Elementary School.
This grant will allow Mattoon High School students in Chrome Depot to provide a wide array of technology and multimedia support. Chrome Depot students make repairs to Chromebooks, provide graphic design assistance for teachers and maintain digital signage boards throughout the school. With funding from Consolidated, students will have the opportunity to expand the program, offering their services to local businesses and the greater Mattoon community.
“The student tech leaders at Mattoon High School would like to thank Consolidated Communications for their continued support in assisting outreach efforts to serve our community,” said Jeana Craft, instructional technology coach at Mattoon High School. “The additional funding will allow the program to increase impact by providing upgraded technology to improve our current systems and extend services to the greater Mattoon community. We are honored to expand our support services to the people and businesses that have supported us throughout the years and are hopeful that the skills gained will positively impact our school and community.”
“Through our Consolidated Connects Educational Grant Program we are increasing access for students to learn, grow and thrive through programs like Chrome Depot at Mattoon High School,” said Sarah Greider, senior communications manager at Consolidated. “Investing in education initiatives like this program make our communities stronger and Consolidated is proud to support the Mattoon community and its youth through this grant.”
