Consolidated Communications sponsors recycling drive at Effingham schools

The program will continue through October 12 and coincides with the distribution of the 2009-2010 Phone Book from Consolidated Communications for Effingham and the surrounding area.
Sanitation Service Inc., of Effingham, “The Rubbish Gobbler,” is also supporting the effort by gathering and housing recycled books. Area residents can also recycle their old phone books by dropping them off at Consolidated’s
Brad Barker of Consolidated Directory Services, said the goal of the program this year is to gather more than 17,000 old directories during the month-long collection period. “We’re excited to offer this program again in Effingham. The response from students last year was overwhelming, and they brought in more than 16,600 old directories,” he said.
