Local residents retire from Consolidated Communications

MATTOON – Several local residents recently retired from Consolidated Communications. A retirement celebration in their honor was held in Mattoon where President and CEO Bob Currey and others congratulated the retirees and thanked them for their service to the company.

  Mike Fuller

Mike Fuller retired from the company after 38 years of service. He joined the company on Sept. 21, 1970, as a Central Office Man. He has also worked as a Transmission Technician, Field Engineer, Transmission Engineer, Network Engineer, Marketing Specialist – Video Services and Senior Engineer. He retired as an Engineer III.

            Fuller and his wife, Carol, live in Mattoon, and have a daughter, Shel; and a son, the late Michael Alan Fuller.

Duane Enis retired with 31 years of service to Consolidated Communications. He Duane Enisjoined the company on March 26, 1978, as a Material Service Man. During his career he has also worked as a Janitor, Order Control Coordinator, Customer Service Advisor, Project Coordinator and IBS Senior Project Coordinator. He retired as an Installation Project Manager.

            Enis is a Special Olympics Family Festival volunteer. He is also a charter member and Secretary/Treasurer of American Legion Riders – Post 88, The Patriots, Patriot Guard Riders and lifetime member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 6410.  

            He and his wife, Judy, live in Windsor. They have two children: Shawn Utley and Tonya Peters; and two granddaughters: Tristen Nicole Peters and Reese Elizabeth Peters.

               ***** V Burrell

 

Vicky Burrell retired from the company after 31 years of service. She joined the company on March 29, 1978, as a Customer Support Specialist. During her career she has also worked as a Clerk Routine, Utility Clerk, Cashier, Customer Service Manager, Customer Representative Manager, Customer Support Specialist and Business Assigned Specialist.   She is currently a Staff Specialist II.

            Burrell lives in Mattoon and has a son, Dustin David.

Todd Cisna

Todd Cisna retired with 34 years of service. He joined the company on April 29, 1974, as a Material Service Man. He has also worked as an Installation Foreman, Maintenance Installation Foreman, Maintenance Installation Supervisor,   Customer Service Manager, Customer Service Manager, Customer Service Supervisor, Analyst Centrex/Voice Mail, Product Analyst, Profit Assurance Analyst,   Financial Analyst and Support Services Supervisor. He retired as a Product Manager.

Cisna is a volunteer for the Special Olympics Family Festival. He lives in Effingham with his wife Susie. They have two sons, Michael and Ben.

Lyndle Slightom

Lyndle Slightom retired from Consolidated Communications with 41 years of service. He joined the company on May 14, 1966, as a Lineman. During his career he has also worked as a C O Man, Switchman, C O Foreman, COE Network Services Manager, Maintenance Installation Manager, OS Analyst/ Technical Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Technical Support Administrator, Manager Technical Trainer, Performance Consultant and Technical Support Specialist. He retired as a Technical Trainer.

            Slightom is a past president and a life member of the Iverson A. Lumpkin Pioneer Club. He is also a member of The Charleston Loyal Order of the Moose. He and his wife, Margene, live in Mattoon.

            Barbara Barb WeichelWeichel retired from Consolidated Communications after 33 years of service. She joined the company on Jan. 5, 1976, as a Clerk Routine.   During her career she also worked as a Utility Clerk, Service Clerk, Inside Sales Specialist, Business Services Sales Specialist, Account Executive, Account Manager, Account Administrator/ MSA8, Senior Account Administrator and ICTC Account Manager. She retired as a Sales Representative III.

            Weichel is a volunteer for Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center and Habitat for Humanity. She is also a member of the Charleston Park Foundation Board and a Charleston Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador.  

            She and her husband, William, live in Charleston. They have five children: William Weichel, Scott Thomas, Laura Hall, Steve Weichel and Phillip Weichel; and six grandchildren.

V Wickham

            Vickie Wickham retired recently after 39 years of service to Consolidated Communications. She joined the company on March 9, 1970, as a Stenographer. During her career she has also worked as a Confidential Secretary, Traffic Engineer – Trunking, Network Data Analyst – Trunking, Regulatory Analyst, Regulatory Issue Administrator, Centrex Product Manager, Account Manager, Complex Order Supervisor, Order Management Supervisor, Product Manager – Business Systems, Sales Manager – IBS and Product Manager II. She retired as a Senior Network Planner.     

            Wickham has also participated in the Special Olympics Family Festival for the past 25 years and served as the event chairperson in 2007. She and her husband, Craig, live in Mattoon.

Sue Walker

Sue Walker retired from the company after 36 years of service. She began her career on March 14, 1972, as an Operator, and also worked as a Clerk Routine, Clerk Utility, Accounting Clerk II, CABS Administrator, CABS Associate and Billing Operations Analyst II. She retired as a Billing Operations Analyst III.

Walker and her husband, Terry, live in Mattoon. They have a daughter, Teresa Jones and her significant other, Ken Holzhouser; and two granddaughters: Jessica Jones and Kendall Holzhouser.
