Consolidated's Pioneer Club donates $900 to Coles County Humane Association

MATTOON – Consolidated Communications’ Iverson A. Lumpkin Chapter of the Independent Telecommunications Pioneers of America recently donated more than $900 in cash along with several pounds of pet food, treats and toys to the Coles County Humane Association.

Angelo Rosa, a Consolidated Communications employee and President of the Pioneer Club, said the group held a Casino Night fundraiser recently to raise money for the association and to gather donations. “We’re excited to make this donation to the Coles County Humane Association. Our employees were very generous with their contributions for this cause,” Rosa said.

The Mattoon-based chapter of the Pioneer Club is part of the national Telecommunications Pioneers organization. Membership is open to employees and retirees of Consolidated Communications. The club also awards scholarships to the children and grandchildren of Pioneer Club members each year, and since 1990, has presented more than $87,000 in scholarships.
