Area students featured on new Litchfield, Hillsboro directory

MATTOON – The 2009-2010 Official Phone Book of Consolidated Communications was recently delivered to residents in the Litchfield and Hillsboro area.

The cover of the new book features a photo montage of student athletes from area high schools, including: Aaron Highfill from Bunker Hill High School; Alex Gagnor from Carlinville High School; Quinn Hellmann from Gillespie High School; Stuart Mullen from Girard High School; Lauren Williams and Blake DeLong from Hillsboro High School; Taylor Wernsing from Lincolnwood High School; Erin Dragoo and Billy Thorpe from Litchfield High School; Kayla Brannam from Mt. Olive High School; Lucas Wright from Nokomis High School; Tanner Clag from Northwestern High School; and Lucas Loots from Staunton High School.

The official Phone Book of Consolidated Communications is packed with handy features, including a numerical cross reference guide that allows users to look up a phone number instead of the name. The directory also includes easy-to-read white and yellow page listings, and features several pages of Litchfield and Hillsboro community information, city maps, governmental listings and a community calendar.

Brad Barker, Consolidated Directory Services Manager, said he’s excited about the company’s new concept for the directory cover focusing on local student athletes and "Celebrating the Spirit of Macoupin County." "We feel our phone books are truly reflections of the communities we serve, so we focus on images that show pride and the spirit of community," Barker said. "We’re proud to deliver this new directory to our customers in the Litchfield, Hillsboro and surrounding areas."

In addition to the traditional directory that is being delivered to area residents now, The Phone Book from Consolidated is also available in a mini book format. The mini format is ideal for use in tight places such as vehicles or offices. Area residents can also get a mini book by visiting the Litchfield Communication Center at 301 N. Madison, Litchfield.

The new directory is also available in an online version at the Consolidated Communications Web site, www.consolidated.com. The online directory includes the same information as the printed directory, including white and yellow pages, and is easily searchable by name and business classification. The online version also provides maps and driving directions to many businesses by clicking on the address and a link is also available to many advertisers’ Web sites.

Area residents are encouraged to recycle their old phone books by dropping them off at the Litchfield Communication Center or the Montgomery County Recycling Center, 506 Corporate Drive, Hillsboro.
